What's up everybody? I made it to the mission field.

My trainer, Elder Larsen

I actually was only in South Carolina for about 20 hours and then we went down to Statesboro, Georgia.  The first night I spent in South Carolina, I was able to sleep in a hotel and it was the nicest bed and I was so comfortable.  The next day I met my trainer, Elder Larsen, and then we drove 2 hours 30 minutes to get to our apartment in Georgia.  My trainer was in a car accident so I get to drive.  I like it though because it helps me get a better feel for the area.  Statesboro is a typical southern town and is right by Georgia Southern University. I have never seen cotton fields before and they are everywhere.  We pulled over to the side of one of the fields and I picked some cotton from the field and removed all the seeds.  It is a really cool place.  There are swamps and on Saturday it was 70 degrees.

We had dinner at a member's house and they served us Venison and fried green tomatoes.  I have never had either so it was cool and they tasted pretty good.  We were also driving and I saw a weird looking cow.  When we looked at it closer it was a yak.  I had never seen one before so that was cool.

Everyone has been really nice and I have enjoyed it so far.  We visited a family and they had a bunch of horses so I told them we need to come back so I can ride one of the horses.  I don't know if that is against the rules or not but I'll ask and then try and ride "Whiskey" around a little bit.  It is going to take some time to get adjusted though because ...there are mostly sand roads and everybody is spread out.  Most of the houses are trailers in the woods.  I need to take more pictures but I haven't been thinking about it.   I'll take more pictures for you all next week.  It's been great so far.  I've met so many cool people and I have a great trainer.
