Hi everyone,

These last couple weeks have been more of the same.  We have been meeting a lot of people and the time has been going by quickly.  On New Year's Eve, we had burgers and they were really good.  But it was weird because we had to be back in our apartment by 6:30.  But we did a fun puzzle to pass the time.  I also had my first fast sunday on the mission.  I shared my testimony in my ward but fasting on the mission is brutal.  I didn't want to do anything but we had to drive around and I was just really tired and hungry.  One thing I didn't know about missionary work is that there would be so many meetings.   At least once a week we have to drive at least 2 hours to get to the meetings. Today we had Chicken and Waffles which was fun.  They were pretty good.   We had a whole bag of deer jerky given to us.

We've met so many people the last couple weeks and there are two we are hoping to get baptized soon so that is really exciting.

The most interesting thing to happen this week is that we got to go help a member in the ward feed his pigs.  We could smell the pigs from like 30 feet away and their biggest breeder pig is 7 feet long and is nasty.  They just smelled terrible.   Only 2 of them live long and the rest get "processed" once they get to a certain size.  I have only seen one wild boar down here and it was on the side of the road dead.  But, now I want to go boar hunting because that just seems fun.  We talked to a guy who snuck onto the military base down here to hunt wild boars and he got caught.  He just told the officers that he got lost and that's why he was on the base and they let him go.

But yeah that's just about all that happened and it's almost time with transfers.  It doesn't feel like I've been out here that long... I still tell people I've been in the field for like 2 weeks but it's been a month.
