July 15

Hi Everyone,

 

This week was a pretty standard week.  My new comp and I are getting along great!  Neither of us have been taking too many pictures so there aren't many for this week.  But it was a great week! 

 




I was able to meet a bunch of people that have been taught here in Simpsonville and there are some really cool people here.  We have several fun recent converts.  There is the Starks family.   They have 3 kids that are kinda interested and they have 3 MASSIVE dogs.  They have a 6 month old Mastiff that is 130 pounds.  It was hard to focus while that thing kept sniffing my leg.  There is also the Maguires.  Brother Maguire is really cool! He has read all the Pearl of Great Price, D&C, and the Book of Mormon and he has only been a member for 5 months,  He is really excited about the truth and he is super fun to talk to,  We started discussing the Baptists and how they usually aren't interested and he said that it is because they teach from tradition and not knowledge.  It was a really cool thought.

 


But this next week should be fun! I have exchanges with the ZL's so I get to have a new companion for a day.

Story he didn't write about ..  before J's mission he worked at Al's Sporting Goods.  He had a coworker from South Carolina.  He says he remembers teasing him about the name of his city .. Simpsonville.  He had pretty much forgotten about it though.  He was invited to dinner with a family and asked the father about his family.  He pulled out a picture to show them.  J recognized his coworker and said, "Hey, that's Camden.  I worked with him."   The dad Facetimed his son and handed J the phone.  Camden happened to be at work .. he walked around and had J say hi to all his former coworkers and then realized that J's brother, Tyler, who also works at Al's, was at work.  So T was also able to talk to him for a few minutes.

Nov 11 Hi Everyone! This week I got transferred to Evans Georgia! I am excited to be back in Georgia! I am about an hour and 30 minutes north of Statesboro.  I actually cover 2 wards here and that is interesting.  I get to go to 2 sacrament meetings.   I am also in a Trio which is random but cool.  I am comps with Elder Copier from Cali and Elder Monua from Lehi Utah.  They have both been out for only 3 monthsl.  It is a really nice area and the members here seem nice.   But I am going to miss Simpsonville. My last day in Simpsonville was pretty great. We went to our friend Cierra's house and invited her and her kids to be baptized.  Her kids said yes but Cierra said she had already been baptized.  So Elder Rose has some work to do lol.  The kids are really excited and they are a lot of fun so I'm excited to see what happens with them.  I also met a guy that went to school at Georgia Southern University and he had a b...

March 12 & 18

  March 12 This week was another great week in Statesboro Georgia! Elder Richardson and I have been working hard!  On Tuesday, we got a text from a member who had not been to church in about five years.  He said he had quit drinking and really needed us to come over and teach him a lesson to keep his mind off of alcohol.  He told us he had been drinking everyday for a while and was having about 5 beers a day.  He's a really great guy and is definitely doing great.  We're meeting with him again tomorrow.   For Elder Richardson's 1st Wednesday, I decided I needed to introduce him to Wingstop. We ate 40 wings for wingsday so that was a lot of fun.  But, not too many crazy things happened this week!   March Zone Conference March 18 Hi Everyone, This week was a great week full of great missionary work.  Nothing really exciting but we met a lot of people with potential.  There was also a big storm so a lot of the dirt roads...

  Aug 5 Hi Everyone,   This week was a lot more interesting than last week.  We first had a zone conference at the beginning of the week and we had two zones combined so I got to see a bunch of people I know.  It was cool and it had some great testimonies.  We learned how to check the oil in our cars and I was surprised that some people weren't sure about how to do that.  But then my companion got sick and we were stuck inside for the whole day while my companion tried to not die.     Later in the week one of the companionships  in the district had a talent show.  They are both Samoan and so they had us do the Haka with them.  It was really fun.   Elder Vaivaka led it out while I struggled to keep up in the back.   Yesterday, the two people from New York that we have been teaching came to church.  They  really enjoyed the first and second hour.  It's fun talking to them because it reminds...
